Caravan Roof Stickers offer another small protection in the fight against caravan, motor home and horse box theft.

So you left your caravan on your drive.  You have a steering wheel lock fitted.  You have an external wheel clamp.  And you have etched your windows with a VIN number.

In fact you have installed all the recommend caravan security devices and systems: alarms, cameras, wheel locks, door locks . . . at many hundreds of pounds.  Which leaves you looking for motorhome security tips, or even diy caravan security products.

Yet, you have come home to find your caravan gone.  How do you go about retrieving your treasured caravan?  This is actually a difficult situation.  Clamps are a deterrent to theft.  VIN numbers are a way of reuniting you with a retrieved van.  However, caravans and motor homes are very difficult to tell apart and so retrieval is actually very difficult.  So many are stolen and whisked into Europe very quickly.

How do Caravan roof stickers work?

1. It is as easy as sending us your chosen details.  It can be any number or combination of letters and numbers.  The most important thing is that you don’t forget it. We don’t recommend you use your home postcode.   Most of our customers use their car registration number.
2. It comes with clear instructions for fitting onto a clean roof.  In fact it will take longer to clean the roof than to install it.
3. We recommend you install it from the kerb side with the letters towards you.
4. Our roof stickers are generally made from black marine grade vinyl (unless you request a different colour) and are in 23cm high lettering.  These are the same size and design as used on emergency service vehicles.
5. Should your vehicle be stolen, contact the police and advise them that you have a roof sticker.  They will activate the road side monitoring cameras to scan for the vehicle.  The cameras are placed on an increasing number of roads, but are prolific around ports and motorways.
6. Remember the roof sticker is not proof of ownership.  It is an identifier.  If your caravan is retrieved, you will still need to prove ownership through other documentation.

How do I order boat lettering?

1. We make all our products especially for each customer.  There is no ‘standard’ design, so if you have any concerns, do give us a ring on 01243 528384, or email here.
2. It would be a great help if you were able to measure the available space on your boat – so the clear area you have free avoiding cleats and other furniture
3. You may already have a font or choice of design for your lettering, but if not, we can help you.
4. Let us have your choice of colour for the lettering as well as the wording
5. We will email you back artwork to approve together with a quotation
6. Pay the bill (our minimum order is £10) and sit back and wait for delivery.

How do I order vehicle signage?

1. Simply email us the make, model, colour, wheelbase and openings of your van or car
2. Include all the information and logos you want included together with any thoughts you have on colours etc
3. Wait for us to email you back a draft design
4. A small van, such as a combo usually works out at £40 per panel, so £120 for a rear and two sides for self install.
5. Larger vans such as a transit are around £60 per panel, so £160 for a rear and two sides for self install
6. Remember that HiTop and LWB will use considerably more vinyl so ask for a quotation.

Vinyl lettering has to be the most versatile product around.  We supply many different types of vinyls.  Why not let us know how you are planning to use it?  This way we will ensure you get the right vinyl for the job.  In years gone by, sign writing was an artistically skilled job.  After a long apprenticeship, the trades person would paint designs freehand  onto walls, vans and buildings.  Artisans are few and far between these days.  They have mostly been replaced by the economic and easy to apply vinyl products.

What are the common uses of vinyl lettering?

• You can brand vehicles.  Rear window decals are really popular and drive business in your geographically local area. You can apply these graphics easily yourself.
• If you have a boat, why not use our marine grade vinyls?  You may want to add your boat name in a fancy design.  Or you can even add a port of origin.  Vinyl lettering works on RIB’s life buoys and life vests.
• Do you have a shop and want something better than a sheet of paper with your opening times?  For instance, you can apply vinyl lettering to the inside of the glass It is a great way to connect with passers-by at eye level.  You can also display important store information such as opening times.
• Perhaps you have made a sign or an A board – why not put some vinyl lettering on to finish the job?
• Vinyl lettering adheres to most flat surfaces. If you have existing signage or a metal fence, why not spruce it up with your own design?

Is it easy to apply?

YES!  We send clear instructions and we have also made a handy how to video here.  In addition, we send all our lettering in single sheets.  We supply the lettering on a backing sheet, all pre-spaced.  So although it will look like each letter has been applied separately – no nasty clear backing – in fact you will have applied it in one block.  Watch the video!  But be warned.  You may find yourself addicted!

Is it expensive?

Vinyl lettering is very cost effective.  Let us know how you are using it and we will make sure we supply the optimum vinyl for the job.  For example, our marine grade vinyl (for vehicles and boats) works out at around 10p per 1cm height of letter.  If you are ordering large amounts, we go to a meterage price rather than a per letter price.  Just email for a quote.
