How to update your vinyl event banner
So you ordered a reusable vinyl event banner from us last year – THANK YOU for doing this and keeping a piece of vinyl out of landfill. This makes your event more sustainable and the advertising locally will ensure your event was a great success.
You are sitting in a planning meeting and get to the subject of advertising. Suddenly you remember that the banner was RE-USABLE! Cue many questions from your fellow committee members.
Hop over to our Youtube channel and watch this video! It really is very simple.
Follow these ten steps to update your vinyl event banner
- Find the banner! Hopefully it has been stored rolled, image outerwards.
- Email us to order your new lettering – do this at least six weeks before your event. Don’t forget to tell us what organisation you are from, because that is how we save our artworks. Tell us your new dates/event/venue.
- Wait a couple of weeks and your new lettering will arrive in the post.
- Lay the vinyl event banner flat and clean it off. If it is badly creased, you can iron it with a towel or thick cloth in between the iron and banner. Do not use steam.
- Remove the unwanted lettering using gentle heat from a hairdryer or hot water bottle, or lay it in the sun.
- The more heat, the less adhesive will be left on the banner. Remove this using a stick remover such as DeSolvIt.
- Clean well with water
- Then apply your new lettering as per the instructions in the video.
- You will need masking tape to position it before removing the backing paper and pressing it firmly down.
- Remove the top carrier paper.
And your banner is ready to hang, looking good as new!
